This week:

Let's not talk about politics for a long, long time.
I keep seeing things and I'm getting offended and as much as I want to discuss them, I don't.

So this week in life:

the water heater in my house broke. I was doing laundry on my day off, because I was at the point where I had to. I went downstairs and could smell Gas. Now that's a terrifying feeling because smelling gas is NOT a good sign. I ran upstairs to inform my mom because honestly, I didn't feel like blowing up. Especially with Ev in the house. My mom tried to figure it out and we thought we solved it but after a while my mom checked and the smell was back. She told me and Ev to leave the house and called the gas company to come and check it out.
So Ev and I made our way to my grandparents and had a play date with Bell's. We got some chinese food and got to spend quality time!
My mom called as I got there to say it was the water heater and it was about to explode. The gas smell was because the flames where shooting out of the water heater instead of warming the water (something like that..) I feel pretty lucky because the thing could have exploded or the fire shooting out of the water heater could have lit the HUGE cardboard box of christmas decorations and the house could have gone up in flames. Pretty lucky right?
My mom was mad at my step-dad because he smelt the gassy fumes before he left.
To be honest, I'd LOVE to be woken up if you smell gas. Because like I said, I really don't want to blow up..nor do I want my daughter to blow up either.

but anyways.. my mom was going to get the water heater replaced that evening but the guy said he's charge 1700 to do it. Heeeellll nah.
She went to plumbing supply co and they said they'd do it for 700. Thank you for being honest and doing work for a decent price!
but they couldn't come until Wednesday.
oh well.

My mom decided to wake me up the next day waaaay early before Ev was even awake. (Ev is my alarm clock on days I do not work early) My mom thinks she is super intresting early in the mornings and likes to barge in my room and tell me things I really don't care about while I'm trying to sleep. Loudly. and then leaves the room without shutting the door (I need to move!) and then discuss things with my step dad, loudly. They let the dogs bark and bark and bark and bark. Which in turn wakes cute little Ev up well before she would on her own and that makes me have to get up waaaay early before I'd like to. (sleep is golden! don't mess with mine) very irritating!

So basically the past two days I had to shower at my grandparents, who luckily live close to work. Ev even got babysat by them today because I didn't have to work that long, or late! They took her to see some horses out at my great-grandma Larsens! She had a fun day! She was soo happy when I came and got her though, she would NOT let me put her down. She just wanted her momma :)

In Ev news, she is walking more and more!! Seriously she just prefers to walk more than crawl. Although when she feels the need to go SUPER fast, she'll crawl. But for the most part she is just walking.. with drunken sailor swag.. (she's still learning.)

I've already gushed about that girl. But she is just so smart and so funny and sweet and I just fall more in love with her every minute! SERIOUSLY!
She was having fun putting a basket over her face and playing peek-a-boo today. She also thought it was funny to wrestle me and try to fall over the couch!(which was actually incredibly scary!)
and the best part is

I have a dog named Sassy (I didn't pick the name, we adopted her from an old woman years, and years ago. Nearly ten years ago) She is kind of jealous of Ev. She always barks at her. Just barks, she doesn't bite. Well her bark is really loud and scary, so of course it scares Ev a lot and makes her cry. So I taught Ev how to tell her no and to be nice. I stick my finger at Sass and say "no-no! Be nice!" Ev Learned how to stick her finger at her and shake it but she would only babble. Until today out of no where she was walking (yes, walking!) past Sass and just plain-as-day said "No-no!" while shaking her little finger! cutest god-damn thing I've ever seen! And when she snores on car rides homes. haha

well I'm blogged out, until next time my good friends!

  1. Yeah we got quoted 1500 on our water heater through home depot. We said no and andrew and danen put it in. We only spent 450$ huge difference! thats scary though. I hate smelling gas. You just never know what could happen.
