So today I went to Brigham city with my friend Rachel and her little boy Liam. Of course I brought Miss Ev. How could I not bring her, when her boyfriend is going?! lol well anyways.. We went up there because Rachel's family-in-law (or soon to be) was having a birthday party for one of the kids. Rachels Hubby couldn't go because he was well.. golfing lol. So Rachel went and she took me with her. She knew I had been feeling down lately about a lot of shitty things that are happening. Being couped up definetly hasn't helped so I went with her.
I dressed Ev in a cute UofU outfit since it was the big UofU vs. BYU game. I even got myself a UofU shirt. so we went to the birthday party and let me tell you, Everyone LOVED ev. Well shes a new baby so of course people love her. Babies are cute. But one lady REALLY loved Ev. She said shes always dreamt of a little dark haired girl and she thinks Ev is it. lol. Its nice to show off my baby and have people tell me how beautiful she is. Shes probably the best thing I've ever made, so I hope that I've done my best work!
I also learned some new things about my little chunkers. Like she doesn't like to eat in a noisy room. It has to be quiet and peaceful. I learned this when it had been 4 hours since her last feeding and she wouldn't eat so I took her out to the car to see if I could boobie feed her because I thought something wasn't good with the bottle I had made. but no.. once we got to the car she sucked the bottle down.
Oh and by the way.. Ev is Boobie feeding now! lets hope it lasts! She was so good at breastfeeding when we left the hospital but once she got home she HATED it and would NOT do it. Plus I was in a lot of pain and wasn't up for the screaming and fighting quite yet and vowed to try again later. So I pumped and made small attempts to get her to boobie feed. and FINALLY the other day I got her to latch and eat! and shes been doing it pretty consistantly. I REALLY, REALLY hope this lasts. Breastfeeding is sooooo much easier then pumping and bottle feeding, especially at night. It also allows me to leave more freely because I know if she ever gets hungry then I can feed her whenever and not have to take the time to pump. and I don't have to carry my pump around all of the time. So fingers crossed we can continue this.
I've been a little worried about miss ev too, shes been looking rather pale as of late. That's when I realized that her jaundice is clearing up. It looked like she had a nice little spray tan for a while because she was so orange. but now its clearing up and shes looking pale. But that means she will match me more! lol
I know all this blabber is probably a little boring but I'm a full time momma and this is my life. lol
I want to share another story. The other day I went to see my great grandma. She's getting pretty old, she is about 86 now.. I think.. and I never thought I'd be able to have children in her lifetime. Which made me horribly sad because she always makes beautiful blankets for the babies in the family and I've always cherised my blankets. I wanted some for my children too. So when I got pregnant, the fact that my Great-grandma got a chance to meet my child was such a blessing. That made the whole circumstances of my pregnancy so much easier. So I took Evee to see my great-grandma and of course that made my great-grandma very happy. A comment she said to me really struck me, she said "Isn't it funny how these little souls find us?" and it made me think that after everything I've been through in this pregnancy and after, this little soul found me. No matter what happens from here on out, I'll always have this little soul as mine. She is apart of me and without her I can't be. And no matter the journey of how she got her or how she came to be, she is here and that's all that matters.
Miss Ev supporting her team.. GO UTES :)
