Day Four

Day 4: My view on religion

Ahh religion.. well I'll point out that NO I'm not religious. If I were religious, well obviously I'm not very righteous and I would be a fraud. But I've never claimed to be righteous sooo I'm not a fraud! I think that religion is a good thing to have, I think its something that can help you cope and pick your spirits up and make you look forward to whats next. but I also think religion can drive you crazy. I think that it can affect a person similar to a drug. It can consume a persons life and become an obsession. It can alienate you from real life.
I don't know if there is one true religion out there, and if there is, its probably a combination of all of the religions. but I can't say that for sure. I respect every ones beliefs and I don't think anyone is wrong based on their religion. I just don't need their religion to be pushed onto me, I want my beliefs to be respected. One thing I dislike when it comes to religion is that the some people, not all, claim a religion but do things that are considered "sinful" in the eyes of their religion. If your going to believe in a religion and claim it and follow it, then really follow it. don't do things that you know are wrong based on your religion and claim to be that religion. I think that's more wrong then just doing the bad thing in the first place. practice what you preach, DUH. When I was in high school I was pretty damn righteous based on what I know of some churches all the while watching other people who claimed that religion running off and doing things I didn't even do and then judge me for not going to church like I was the bad one.. uh no. Going to church doesn't make you a good person and NOT going to church doesn't make you bad.

but I'm rambling. My point is. Religion is religion. If you have one good for you! If ya don't, well good for you too! being a good person doesn't reside in religion, its resides in a person. Religion is just a way to guide you towards whats considered a good person.
