In the wake of the recent tragedy, I noticed people are putting politics in places it doesn't belong.
I see things about gun control all over facebook.
People really love their guns..
I'm not a fan of guns. I'm not a fan of any weapons at all. I can understand owning a handgun for safety. You honestly don't need a big one, just one that will help protect you. I can see having rifles, espeically if you hunt and maybe one for safety. But owning assualt rifles? I don't understand that.
I hate guns to be honest. They scare me. Seriously. The smallest gun can put someone to their grave in a matter of seconds.
People say that guns don't kill people, people kill people. That in sense is true. But truth be told, its People with guns who kill people.
I hate that people are more worried about their guns taken away. Why is it even about that? Blaming liberals because they want guns to be banned. How is this anything to do with liberals and republicans? HOW?
Let's focus on the true tragedy of this. 20 kids died. 20 small little babies, killed.
All because someone got a hold of gun that shouldn't. Legally.
Maybe we should re-evaluate the gun control. but honestly any gun can kill and the wrong person can always get a hold of guns. Saying teachers should learn how to shoot and kill people? Well either way, that means a class full of small children will witness a violent act. Granted it will save lives but why so much violence?
Why are guns so important? Why is the need for weapons so strong? I see it to protect yourself from another with a weapon, but why? It seems like a huge endless cycle of violence!
Then there's people who talk about God not being allowed in school and having prayer in school blah, blah, blah. Religion is a touchy subject. God is everywhere, whether he is spoken to or not. You don't need to speak of God outloud to have him there. Prayer does not belong in public schools. Prayer is a private thing between God and yourself. In my eyes anyways. Out of repspect for everyone and their beliefs. Just because we don't force our public schools to make our children pray. Doesn't mean God isn't allowed in school. If your child is taught prayer at home. It will follow them whereever they go.
This tragedy has nothing to do with religion, or the lack there of.
This tragedy isn't about gun control, politics or religion. Its about opening our eyes and taking in the loss. Maybe the lesson here is, paying attention to the important things. Loving and respecting all people. Being kind. Maybe it gives us a chance to hold on a little tighter to the people we love because they could be gone in a matter of seconds. Maybe its about being aware of our loved ones. Helping those who need help.
Its a cruel lesson to learn but what's happened should not makes us more violent or hate. It should makes us realize that maybe we are letting to much unkind things be spoken and said. Our thoughts shouldn't be "Give guns to everyone!" so we can turn small things into Mexican standoffs. What more does it need to take to see the error in our ways?
My heart still aches for the families who lost their babies. Their friends, co-workers, family. I can't fathom the loss. I look at the pictures and I can only get a small sense of the devastation. It's painful, and scary to see the fear and loss in those peoples faces. To see the hurt and tragedy and the fact that this incident stems farther than just one day. I hope they can find peace in these hard times.
