So I went to Moab this weekend. I used to go to Moab all of the time when I was little. As a matter of fact my parents got married there, I went there right before I got diagnosed with diabetes. Funny story, We used to hike everywhere. We did the trip right before then and I had the hardest time. I felt so tired and sick and thirsty, thirsty, thirsty. My parents gave me a hard time about it because they thought I was just being lazy and being a fish. lol, nope.. diabetes! That probably made them feel like hell. but anyways.. I decided to go because I promised Rachel if I got job this last week, I'd go. Which I did by the way! whoo hoo. I'll update ya'll on that later but I decided that, hell yeah I'll go! I have the money, this is the last time I can really do anything for a while without having to worry about work.. so it worked out perfect! Plus my birthday is Tuesday so it's like a pre-celebration!
fun fact about me: I LOVE outdoorsy stuff. Some people may not think of me in that sense but I seriously LOVE it. Sometimes I think I don't but it feels so right to be out in nature camping. I don't care how I look, I don't care that I haven't showered. I like peeing outside, probably more than the average person.. lol I LOVE to hike, I love biking, I love river rafting, exploring all that stuff! I used to do that all a TON when I was little. Oh how I miss it..
Moab was like a second home for me when I was little. I've been house sitting for family members the past few years while they went to Moab. So I was glad to be going myself! I went with Rachel, her sister and brother, and her brothers friends and her brothers girlfriend and her friends. So there was quite the group! The plan for the weekend was to go river rafting! Yay! I've never been without a guide but they all knew what they were doing and obviously I'm currently alive so it all went over smoothly. I love river rafting a lot. It's so wonderful to be floating on a river and looking up at the surroundings. I've river rafted in Moab and in Wyoming and they are both quite different but each beautiful in their own right. I really, really need to do this more often. Also the moon is currently the closes to Earth right now so at night it was awesome. It was soo bright and you could see everything and it was pretty gorgeous. Oh I just love Moab! it was a good time! We made smores around the fire and hotdogs. We talked and laughed and all that fun stuff! Me, Rach and Steph even escaped to the town of Moab to get "real" food and to check on the babies.
which this trip happened to be my first trip without Ev. I had bad anxiety about it the night before.. I haven't spent a DAY without her, since well, over a year ago! I kept thinking that she would forget who I was or something awful or not love me when I got back. Then I'd go from that to trying to plan what to pack for her too.. I have mom brain bad. but in reality it was only ONE full day away from her, technically two.. but only one day that I went without seeing her at all. The worst part is that the campground had ZERO service. which was good in a way but not so good because I couldn't check on my babes when I wanted too. Rach and I both need to check on our babies. Since Rachel's hubby had Liam alone for the first time! (He did a perfectly good job!) Leaving my little lady behind was quite heartbreaking but good news: She didn't forget me! She was so happy to see me, she kept dancing when I got her! And shes been so happy with me since. yay! She LOVES me still :) I honestly feel like I was gone 5 days rather then 2. lol
also one downfall was not having facebook during this trip (which was a good thing in a way, you don't need it to go camping. Also I found I didn't miss it there. but then I missed big announcements for instance Miss Jennie having her beautiful baby girl!! So exciting! Congratulations by the way!
all in all it was nice though not to have it. I miss those days when facebook wasn't the most important thing ever and you actually had to work to have communication and face time. but oh well, this is the new age and I'm a facebook addict. as you all know.. lol
but this was a good little break for me, I got to meet new people that were pretty cool and I also got better acquainted with people I knew of but not really knew. Can't complain with that! it was all around a good experience and I hope to do it again!
on another note.. I got sunburnt. :( I bought SPF 50 and it didn't exactly work out.. my thighs are burnt, my right foot is burnt. My belly is burnt. You can basically see where my swimsuit tops and bottoms were. the worst of all is my FACE. yes my freaking face!! My face NEVER gets sunburnt because I always have makeup and lotion with SPF in it but I guess I wasn't wearing makeup and I'm not sure my face lotion contains SPF.. but either way it SUCKS. The only place that didn't get sunburnt was my calves on my legs..
so its aloe vera and aloe vera lotion for this gal..I'm hoping my face calms down by Tuesday..
which by the way is MY BIRTHDAY. 21st.. don't forget! :)
