People.

I don't understand them. I am a person, but I don't get the rest of them.

We have signs here at work. Simple signs that state rules, where to go ect.

What I've learned about people working here.. is that people don't see signs, they don't read them. It doesn't matter how big, small or pretty these signs are..no one will see them.

For instance, we have one side of our double doors that is locked. I don't know why exactly but it is. It has a sign that says PLEASE USE OTHER DOOR. with an friendly little arrow pointing to the opposite door. I swear to God at least 20 people run into that door DAILY. Even employees. It drives me nuts, then they stare at me like I did something to the door to not let them out and get offended when I mention that it is locked like it clearly states.

There's times when I even have to go to the bathroom, because I feel like peeing my pants isn't as cool as Billy madison states.

 Seriously in the 5 minutes it takes for me to go to the bathroom, about 20 people show up for strange reasons. Despite the RECEPTIONIST WILL BE BACK SHORTLY sign. They resort to ringing the bell over and over and over until I come back.

which is just freaking obnoxious and it makes me want to scream.

I get you want to get stuff done and go, but I'm allowed to go to the bathroom. thanks.

Or when its visiting and people sign into our AA meeting (they're going on at once) it says on the sign in sheet for AA meeting. The other form states it's for visiting. I know the AA form is simpiler but really?

Or when people think they can bring pocket knifes and lighters to visit with psych patients. I know they probably won't bring them out of their pockets but obviously if we won't let you have bags, phones, or keys back there.. you probably can't have those? It's annoying when people need an explanation..

We also have a sign that says what you can and cannot bring when visiting. Basically you can't bring ANYTHING. no food, no bags, no belongings. just yourself. And no one under 14 years old. BUT NO UNDERSTANDS. I get asked a million times WHY.

first off this is a PYSCHIATRIC, REHAB/DETOX facility. for the safety of our patients.. we would not like them to get a hold of your pocket knifes or lighters. People are here for a reason, so maybe bringing your child around unpredictable people isn't wise. I'm not trying to be rude, but they are here for a reason. And to be honest, We don't want bags back there because you may or may not be carrying a weapon and/or drugs. and seeing as these people are trying to get BETTER, they don't need to be exsposed to stuff like that. Plus don't come to visit your friend in rehab high, I know you're high, you know your high and everyone else does too. It's disrespectful

Also the PHONES. I don't know what's up with people who call here. They are nuts. Like if someone doesn't answer RIGHT then, they will call and harrass the front desk. Chances are if someone didn't answer you the first two times, they are busy. They will call you back when they get a chance. I've even had people who are calling because they want to check to see if we've received their application and they called 5 times in a row and mocked me. yeah, you're not getting the job homeboy!

Or when people call patients. I get you miss them, you want to check on them and make sure they're okay. But they are in treatment. They need to focus on getting better, not talking on the phone all day. I have families who will call ALL day long, over and over. It annoys me, and well everyone esle. SHow your support for your family, but seriously if they have to talk to you all day, why are they here? what's the point?

and the number ONE thing that is annoying me right now..is:

We have a mini fridge behind the desk with water. We are suppose to give it to incoming patients and visitors. If I'm in a good mood I'll offer but most of the time I say nothing, no one asks. but lately employees walk by and say "2 waters!" uh no. it's not a bar, this is not mcdonalds. They come up when I'm busy and they expect me to hand them waters ASAP. UH NO. I'm not your bitch. Use your two legs and arms and get your own damn water. Although it bugs the shit out of me when 20 people crowd my little work space to get waters. ITS ANNOYING. and then they draw attention to the water fridge by shouting for waters and now EVERYONE and their sister's cousin twice removed asks for waters..which means that I have to stop what I'm doing and get water. It sounds stupid but seriously! plus the only times I get asked is when I'm on the phone.. or have 20 visitors waiting.

 and another thing that annoys me is when co workers demand me to do things.. and it has to be RIGHT THEN. but when I need help per say.. leaving or getting out of the building (my badge isn't working) they take however long they feel to let me out. its annoying!
