The perfect end to summer

Is.... DIABETES CAMP!

I'm not kidding, there is diabetes camp. I'm proud to say I'm and annual attendee. Even though I see camp people year around nowadays, there is nothing like hanging out at good ole camp with your diabetic friends. I won't get all cheesy and shit, mostly because I hate getting all cheesy and shit but I like camp, its cool. and I know cool. Well anyways I couldn't attend all week, so I asked if I could "help". 3rd session I helped Buffy out a lot, partly because she always had something for me to do. I went up Saturday and stayed until Monday morning and then I had to sail back to work until Wednesday and then I went back for LAKE DAY! Lake day was a hoot and a half, I transported some camp folk to the lake in my lovely P.O.S vehicle and made them listen to MGMT the whole way. Then I just floated around and hung out with Nikki and Kate and other people. Nikki scared the holy living hell out of me when she had a almost-seizure, no bueno. We attempted to swim but as we barely put our diabetic feets in the water the horn blew to tell us to come up from the lake (this is when Nikki's almost-seizure occurred). So no swimming on lake day, bummer. I didn't get sun burnt! Well that was that, the next day I had to scurry myself back to work and finish the week off. I was sad I missed the camp dance but I was happy that I at least got to go for a couple days. Plus the next week was teen week and I was asked for my help. Friday came and I was invited to a little get together with my lovely camp Buddy's. After work though, I felt ticked. I could have killed someone, or something (preferably Darcie's neighbors dog that couldn't shut the hell up) Work had sucked and I found out that a friend from camp had passes away from cancer. So I wasn't in the best of moods. The get together started out pretty good, everyone was a little tipsy and since I had such a bad day I thought that a couple shots were appropriate. My drinking was interrupted by everyone tossing there cookies. yes, everyone pretty much turned into puke faces, which is no bueno when your dealing with diabetics. So the rest of the night was spent testing blood sugars, wiping puke of peoples faces, preventing fights. I fell straight asleep when I got home. The next day I had to wake up early unfortunately, but fortunately it was to spend the day with my momma and my aunt at the farmers market. Since I discovered that I had little more money In the bank then I thought, I was excited! I bought myself a beautiful necklace from some hippie that I saw there last year (I could have kicked myself for not buying one last year) although the price wasn't favorable but I knew it was worth it! I also bought some yummy pepper jack cheese, yummmmm! Then I had to hurry and get my ass to camp. Like last week I went up Saturday until Monday morning. This time I wasn't much help, since nothing was really asked of me. (I didn't exactly stay in one place to be asked for help) we played two truths and a lie. Mine were: 1. I have two crooked toes 2. I am an only child and 3. I have been divorced for a year. Most of the people who knew me knew the divorced one was the lie, but one person thought that the only child one was a lie. haha. Then all the campers came and blah blah blah, it was camp! I was excited when I was able to come back Wednesday because I not only had Wednesday off but I had Thursday off too! I was able to stay for the dance! left Friday morning before I was asked to move boxes (sorry :/) Then I came home to an awful, awful day at work, only to go to another awful drunken diabetic party that turned into an episode of ER. No. more. drunken. diabetic. party's

Well anyways, its busy season at work. convention time dun dun dun. This is my first convention and I will not lie I'm super nervous. i have to give tours and I'm not sure how well that is going to go. Plus ill be cashiering which as weird as this may sound, i have never done before. is it bad that I'm kinda doing this for the free shirts? well its going to be a week for sure. we have even switched ourselves over to new phones, which are not as simple to operate as our ugly phones were. I miss you ugly phones.. plus the new school semester is starting but I will be missing due to the wonderful convention. I'm excited for a new semester because i love meeting all the new people and learning new cool things. I'm also real excited for it to be fall! I love fall it has a feeling to it that I cant explain. I guess just excitement for the holidays! I just cant wait!

So summer, we have had some real good times. You kept me busy this year but i enjoyed you! until next year..
